CUC 2009: Thank you!

I need to thank quite a few people for assisting with our coverage of CUC 2009. Hopefully TDs understand the need for live onsite coverage of scores as well as bloggers. First and foremost I’d like to thank Rahil who really took charge of the commentating side of things and organized while I was busy wondering why we were having server issues. On that note a big thanks to Steven Trainor for commentating and bringing on Mike.

Apologies – Live again

Sorry about the end of that game, we got hit with a ton of viewers all at the same time and stressed us out again. That was compounded with the net connection here going down. I’ve made a few more fixes and we should be ready to go again. Please view the link below to get going again.

A recap of day 2

It was an interesting day for Too Bad, our inconsistency definitely caught up with us. We played three games and lost all three in what could be measured as relatively close terms. Our first matchup of the day was against Phoenix and we made them work for their win. We started out with two breaks and continued to hold our lead until half. It was a game where we faltered at the end due to concentration but overall quite a bit of fun.

Day 1…what?

Day one has finished itself off quite wonderfully and here I am in bed typing up a few words. While I ran hard today and am tired right now I know that tomorrow I will bring yet more energy to the game, more speed, more intensity because that’s what my team needs and deserves. However, there’s something you deserve. A quick recap of the day; here are some things off of the top of my head:

Day 1 at Nationals: the Fossil perspective

Again, apologies for not tweeting the live score updates; I thought I was, fortunately someone pointed out my error. As for Day 1 at Nationals, it was an exciting experience for me, as I was one of a handful of Fossil players making their CUC debuts today. Oddly, wasn’t as nervous as I thought I would be. Don’t know if that’s a good thing. Our 1st game was a rematch of a very intense matchup at No Borders against BDU (universe point win for Fossil).

Overlooked?

Readers, I missed a team in my previous posts about who could ruin the party for the top four: Mayhem. I should have known better than to miss out on mentioning them seeing as how I play with some of their squad. It would be unfair to assume that Mayhem will not do well seeing as how they finished 3rd in Ontario and clearly have defeated many top teams in the past.

The Buzz

As I sit here typing I am impatient. Impatient to play, impatient to see my friends, impatient to move and get on with it. It’s not anticipation, it’s impatience. It’s at this time I have to calm down, conserve energy, stay focused, eat, and enjoy that tingling sensation of knowing that something great is about to happen. There’s a great unknown ahead but that comes from playing with Too Bad. With a changing roster each tournament has a different feel.

CUC 2009 Prep

Ahead of CUC there’s a few new bloggers around these parts. Rahil has posted his viewing guidefor day 1 and will be providing posts going forward. Also returning will be Jaleel P who provided Twitter updates at Regionals and is likely able to do the same this week. I’ve asked a few more friends whether they’d like to contribute and while they mull it over I’ll extend that invitation to the readers.
