The return

Ladies, ladies, and some gents. I am returned. I am recuperating from what was essentially two weeks of being awake with some sleep breaks. Photos and video to follow but in short: Boracay Dragons (and company) are the most hospitable hosts ever.

*cough* update

A quick update as to why there haven’t been many updates. A few nights of epic partying with the Aussies and a few harsh days of Ultimate have left me a bit under the weather. I have plenty of photos I will post as well as tournament recaps. Those may have to wait until I return to Canada. This week will bring a 12 hour bus ride to Manila from Boracay as well as an Open tournament before I board a plane to start the long journey home.

Yargh!!

An interesting day of Ultimate. We’ve picked up players that are dedicated and layout like mad but are lacking in skills. It’s tricky but we’re improving. In a rematch of World Championships the Dragons took on Australia and pulled out a massive win. Full details coming up but you can find things out more on the ACBU website.

Delayed

Apologies for the lack of updates. The tournament is starting shortly and I’d like to partake in it rather than writing about it. So, off to another day in paradise. <!– raw HTML omitted –> <!– raw HTML omitted –>

Philippines – Day 2 – Quick Review

Apologies for a complete lack of media from today (well almost) but it was busy from the start. A new New Zealand team policy requires a morning swim and from bed to beach to water was a one minute walk. The water is cool in the morning and totally worth the early start. I had no real plans for the day other than to get some Ultimate in. Mark and I met up with some of the Australian players with whom we wandered the beach with before grabbing breakfast.

Day 1 – Boracay – Throwing

It’s been an incredible 24 hours here in Boracay. After a long journey from Toronto (LA, Guam, Manila, Catlican) I finally arrived at one of the most beautiful places in the world. I’m still a bit tired and groggy but managed to stay up the full day and get a game of Ultimate in with the Dragons. These Dragons are incredibly hospitable people and it’s easy to see why everybody gets along with them (with regards to Worlds and Paganello).

Where are you?!

After 28+ hours of travel from Toronto I have reach Boracay to play in and cover ACBU. While a small tournament it is, nevertheless, an important one. Australia and The Dragons will face off in a rematch of World Championships (Australia prevailed) over several days to further their rivalry. More updates from the field as soon as I get some sleep.

Catchup

Hello all! I’ve been substantially busy lately and with only the UPA series in effect (and plenty of coverage available everywhere else) I’ve neglected this site a bit. Not to worry though as I plan on having some content up in advance of CUUC. In other news Paganello 2010registration is in open! The greatest tournament in the world is April 1st through 5th of next year. If you can get a team together then I suggest you register ASAP!
