2009 Ontario Regionals Schedule

The schedule is now available on the tournament website. Mixed will consist of two pools of 6. Women’s is a single pool of round robin before playoffs. MONSTER, Tundra, and BFC appear to have the top three spots wrapped up in Division B. Division B is trickier with the third spot up for contention between DiscGraceful, The Company, Desklamp, and Druid. All teams have a shot at Nationals on Sunday…or so it appears!

USA vs Canada at Potlatch 2009

Scobel Wiggins has provided the following photos from the USA vs Canada game this past weekend at Potlatch. Team USA won the game 13-7 in a score reminiscent of the showcase game at Poultry Days. <!– raw HTML omitted –> {.shutterset_} <!– raw HTML omitted –> {.shutterset_} <!– raw HTML omitted –> {.shutterset_} <!– raw HTML omitted –> {.shutterset_}

Holiday…Celebrate…

Hope all y’all in Canada are enjoying Canada Day. How about a bit of leadup to World Games? As many of you know Chinese Taipei, Great Britain, USA, and Canada attended Poultry Days. Here’s a clip from UltiVillage recapping the weekend:

Le Weekend

July 4th weekend fast approaches and while that means Potlatch in the NW it means Flatlands in Manitoba (Prairie Regionals included) and Jazz Fest in Montreal. Teams and seeds have been postedfor Jazz Fest and it looks like it’s going to be tightly competitive. As expected Storm takes the top seed followed closely by PPF (who will be without their captain Darcy D. as she’s at Potlatch). Conspicously missing are Stella and Lotus persumably due to Boston Invite last weekend but one would expect Stella to play in a tournament so close to home.

No rehash!

Rather than post exactly what you’d get from score reporter you can find a better summary of results from Boston Invite 2009 at Steven Trainor’s blog.GT finishing as well as it did points out that it was seeded far too low and should perhaps compete in Eastern’s I or perhaps even Elite next year (Colt .45 and Brooklyn are far too young and inexperienced to be up there right now).

Saturday are…

Results from Boston Invite Saturday are coming in on score reporter. As expected both Ironside and GOAT have finished at the top of their pools and have the rest of the day off. Mephisto finished 0-3 in their pool (game against GOAT was not as close as CUT) and will face off against Providence Pack Dogs at 1700 (5 pm). PoNY also went 0-3 today and had a much closer match against Ironside than at CUT (where they lost 13-3).

Sluggish Weekend

Boston Invite 2009 is in play and there will be updates from the field as I have them. One piece we do have (courtesy of Mike Jones of GOAT) are the results from the showcase game on Friday evening at 2000 (8 pm) vs Ironside: Tight & long game against Boston, lost 12-15. Broken twice – D line needs 2 convert. Hopefully c them in the finals Sunday. So there you have it, a better result than Cazenovia and let’s look for GOAT and Ironside in the finals.
