And why is an under 23 championship necessary? I would think that if you are good enough to make a national under 23 team, but are no longer eligible for juniors, aren't you already playing on a high level club team? What's the purpose of an under 23 team? World Clubs are early July, World Juniors is early August, Nationals is mid August (granted this one is only relevant to Canadians); was there really a demand for another World championship in the middle of all that?
