WFDF has announced that the first U23 Championships will be held in July in Florence Italy.
Players born in 1987 or later are eligible for the tournament and that means a great many of the best players in Canada qualify for the tournament. At this time it remains to be seen whether Canada will send a team in each division. Since the announcement there’s been a great deal of buzz and the tournament is sure to attract the very best European U23 players; it remains to be seen whether countries outside of Europe will attend.
Also on the announcement page is reference to a Pan-American Championship in 2011, more details on that as it’s planned out.
Also, a big congratulations to FIFD for scoring the inaugural tournament.
