When to pause?

Do I need to take a break? Pause for a bit? These are questions I’ve asked myself recently and for good reason as well. For the last few weeks, months perhaps, I’ve played at a tournament each weekend or been involved in running one. It’s at a hectic pace that I’ve played and traveled in order to feed the passion. As I look ahead to the next month I see that there is no break available until perhaps September.
This is not an uncommon occurance amongst us that play. I had a conversation with a couple recently that want to travel but touring takes away their summer vacation. Eventually the need to do something other than Ultimate takes precedence, what’s the tipping point? How do you decide that you’d rather go away than hang out with your friends?
